NLP Applications to Improve the Quality of Mental Health
April 4th at 3:45 pm EST
There is a rise in mental health concerns rising all over the world. While many interchangeably use poor mental health and mental illness, they are quite different and require different responses and therapy. In most cases, mental health also leads to physical health issues and vice versa. With technology-mediated counseling, there has been rapid growth, but good, affordable, quality treatments are limited. While AI cannot replace a qualified clinician, psychologist, or therapist, NLP techniques empower them with insights and feedback based on clinical notes, a quantitative view of measuring how effective the therapy has been, and recommendations/training on conversation starters for new problems. While using AI, it is crucial to look at AI Governance, including & beyond Responsible AI. Muthu will cover the aspects of NLP techniques and their applications in improving mental health and provide her view on the AI Governance framework.
