Data Science Research Director at Children’s Hospital of Orange County

As the Director of Computational Research at CHOC Children’s, I lead a diverse team in developing and managing a pediatric data science research program that aligns with CHOC’s mission to nurture, advance, and protect children’s health and well-being. My team of data scientists and analysts leverages machine learning, explainable AI, and statistical methods to generate insights and solutions for various clinical and operational challenges.

Collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and administrators, I design and implement data-driven models in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, which enhance decision-making, patient outcomes, and quality of care. Additionally, I serve as an adjunct faculty and an affiliated scholar at Chapman University, where I teach and conduct research in computational science, focusing on healthcare and biomedicine applications.

I am passionate about advancing pediatric data science and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence at CHOC.
